Cruise Door Décor FAQs
1. What is a Personalized Ship Wheel Cruise Door Decoration?
Your Personalized Ship Wheel helps your cruise cabin door stand out from all the others, making it easier to find after a fun-filled day enjoying everything your cruise has to offer!
More than just cruise door décor, your Ship Wheel becomes a personalized display of your cruising adventures. Add Cruise Boards from your past and current cruises to showcase the ships you've sailed and the amazing ports you've visited.
It's also a great conversation starter and a fun way to meet your cabin neighbors and fellow cruisers!
2. Can I add the cruise line logo to my Cruise Boards?
Yes! When ordering either Full-Size or Short Cruise Boards, simply select the “with logo” option.
Just provide your cruise information, including the ship name, and we'll take care of matching the appropriate cruise line logo to your Cruise Board. Whether you've sailed with Royal Caribbean, MSC, Carnival or other cruise lines, the logo adds another personalized touch to each cruise in your collection.
It's a fun way to see not only the ships and destinations you've experienced, but the different cruise lines that have been part of your cruising adventures.
3. How is the Ship Wheel personalized?
When ordering your Ship Wheel, you'll start by choosing the traveler name you'd like engraved. It can be a family name (The Nelsons), first names (Jeff & Jodi), a nickname (Captain Cocktail), or something completely your own. We'll work with you to make sure it fits and reflects your personality.
Next, you'll choose the design for the center of your Ship Wheel from our many available options. Can't find exactly what you're looking for? Send us an email and let's see if we can create something that's just right for you!
Finally, you'll choose the phrase engraved around the bottom of your Ship Wheel. And once again, if none of the available phrases quite captures your cruising personality, reach out to us. We'll do what we can to make it happen.
Your Ship Wheel should be YOUR Ship Wheel!
4. What are Cruise Boards?
Cruise Boards are personalized engraved boards installed at the bottom of your Ship Wheel in date order, creating a display of your cruising history — presented the way you want to remember it.
Your Cruise Boards can include the ship name, cruise date, ports visited, a special celebration such as a New Year's cruise, family reunion or wedding, the names of the people you sailed with, or other details that made the trip special.
Because Cruise Boards can hold quite a bit of information, they're more than a list of cruises. Each board helps recreate the memories of that particular adventure — and as you continue cruising, your collection becomes a personalized history of your travels.
5. Can I add Cruise Boards for both past and future cruises?
Absolutely! As long as you can provide the cruise information, we can create your Cruise Boards — whether the cruise was many years ago or is an adventure you've already booked for the future.
You can include your entire cruise history when you order your Ship Wheel, or add new Cruise Boards as your cruising adventures continue. There's no need to send your Ship Wheel back to us.
We provide a link to a helpful jump ring tutorial video showing you how to add new Cruise Boards yourself whenever you're ready to include them on your Ship Wheel display.
6. What's the difference between Full-Size and Short Cruise Boards?
A typical cruise ship cabin door can accommodate a Ship Wheel with up to 35 Full-Size Cruise Boards. If you have a longer cruise history — or you're planning for plenty of future adventures! — you may want to start with Short Cruise Boards instead.
Short Boards allow two cruises to be displayed on each row beneath the Ship Wheel, with each cruise engraved on its own individual Short Board. This lets you display considerably more of your cruise history while keeping everything organized in date order.
If you're not sure which size is best for your cruise history, just reach out to us and we'll be happy to help you decide.
7. How do the Ship Wheel and Cruise Boards attach to my cruise cabin door?
Your Ship Wheel is designed for easy display on the metal surface of most cruise cabin doors. Four heavy-duty disc neodymium magnets are attached to the back of the Ship Wheel to hold it securely in place.
Cruise Boards are connected to the Ship Wheel and to each other using high-quality jump rings. As your cruise history grows, we also add bar neodymium magnets to the back of selected Cruise Boards to help support the additional weight of your display.
Some Spa Suite and specialty cabin doors may have additional layers of vinyl or other coverings that reduce the strength of the magnetic connection. For those doors, we recommend bringing swivel-hook neodymium magnets for additional support.
8. Will I receive a proof before my personalized order is made?
Yes! When you order your original Ship Wheel and Cruise Boards, we'll automatically send you a proof for approval before we begin making your order. This gives you an opportunity to review your personalization and cruise information and make sure everything looks just right.
We keep each customer's artwork and design details on file, so when you return to order additional Cruise Boards for future cruises, we'll match the format you've previously used. A new proof is not normally required for additional Cruise Board orders, but you're always welcome to request one.
If we notice a significant difference or something that doesn't appear consistent with your previous Cruise Boards, we'll reach out to you before proceeding.
Our goal is to keep everything aligned and consistent so your Ship Wheel display looks seamless as it grows with your past, present and future cruising adventures.
9. How long will it take to make and ship my order?
We work hard to get your personalized order on its way as quickly as possible!
For a new Ship Wheel and Cruise Boards order, we typically send your proof the same day or the next business day after receiving your order. Production begins once we receive your proof approval, so your response time can affect the overall turnaround time.
Once your proof is approved, a full Ship Wheel and Cruise Boards order is typically completed and ready to ship within 1–2 business days. Additional Cruise Board orders are also typically produced within 1–2 business days.
Production time may vary depending on our current order volume, particularly during busy periods. Because we're cruisers too, occasional travel may also affect our normal production schedule. When turnaround times are longer than usual, we'll do our best to make that information available on the website so you know what to expect.
Shipping time depends on your location and the carrier. An order traveling across the country will naturally take a little longer than one staying closer to us here in North Florida.
Production times are based on business days and generally do not include weekends.
10. Can I order additional Cruise Boards without ordering another Ship Wheel?
Absolutely! Once you have your Ship Wheel, you can order additional Cruise Boards whenever you're ready to add another adventure to your cruising history.
We keep a separate design file for each of our customers, including the artwork and formatting used for previous orders. This allows us to match your new Cruise Boards to the ones you already have — even if it's been years since your original order.
If someone else originally purchased the Ship Wheel for you, simply provide us with the name of the person who placed the original order so we can locate the correct customer file.
Once your new Cruise Boards arrive, you can use the linked jump ring tutorial video to help add them to your existing Ship Wheel display.
11. Can I display my Ship Wheel at home between cruises?
Absolutely — and many of our customers do!
Your Ship Wheel doesn't have to spend the time between cruises packed away waiting for your next adventure. Some customers display their Ship Wheel at home using a couple of appropriately placed wall nails to support it, turning their collection of Cruise Boards into a personalized display of everywhere they've cruised.
It's a fun way to enjoy those memories between adventures — and to show family and friends just how many amazing places cruising has taken you!
12. How many cruises can I add to my Ship Wheel?
A typical cruise cabin door can accommodate a Ship Wheel with approximately 35 Full-Size Cruise Boards. If you have an extensive cruise history — or you're planning on creating one! — Short Cruise Boards allow you to display approximately 70 cruises in the same amount of vertical space.
Each Short Board represents one cruise, with two Short Boards displayed side-by-side on each row.
Whether you're just beginning your cruising adventures or already have dozens of cruises behind you, we can help you choose the Cruise Board size that gives your Ship Wheel room to grow with your cruise history.
